Why I do this work
We live in a world where our nervous systems are highly activated. There are so many things to do and take care of, often we are just running from one thing to the next. I do this work because I want to help people feel safe and supported enough to slow down and feel. When our bodies and nervous systems can calm, we are reacquainted with the deeper qualities of what it means to be alive. Pain arises, but there are so many things we can do to make it shift and dissipate which is the ultimate reason for my love of bodywork and massage.
My Expereince
The massage school I went to was focused primarily on therapeutic forms of bodywork. With the bulk of our education in Connective Tissue Therapy and Structural Integration, I learned how to deeply release the fascia and the inter-relatedness of all parts of our body. To bring healing is a process that takes presence and patience. Chronic pain and structural problems we experience physically can be released when we bring proper technique and awareness to the body.
Having practiced massage for nearly 10 years now, I have studied many modalities from different areas of the world. I like to blend techniques to create the ultimate therapeutic experience for my clients dependent on their personal needs. What I have learned most from bodywork is that when we take time to slow down and feel, we can release what we no longer need to be carrying and free ourselves to be with life in a lighter more present way. This is why I truly love this work!
